“a doctor can bury his mistakes but an architect can only advise his client to plant vines.”

fortunately, wright’s quote doesn’t apply to the so called iconic architect of the 20th century, charles gris also knows as le corbusier.

i won’t try to summarise what le corbusier meant to modern architecture, google it if you don’t know(Les 5 Points d’ une architecture nouvelle and the study of villa savoye – one of the statement buildings that emerged from those five points formulated in 1926 – would be a good start).

if you do know, then this is for you:

liverpool exhibition – Le Corbusier Art and Architecture – until the 18th of january, moving afterwards to london to the barbican art gallery until may.

going on the 17th, yes yes, oh yay.

le petit je ne sais quoi

no matter how old you are you remember this. scribbling names and initials, always at the back of your notebooks. always surrounded by hearts.
well, time to rediscover the kid in you or at least that’s what saatchi&saatchi are trying to tell us. useless to know what the ad is for, just enjoy.

and don’t try to hide those heart doodles looking at you from a yellow post it. or from the corner of a newspaper page.

or just the back of a notebook.

Interpol – Rest my chemistry

In Uncategorized on December 28, 2008 at 2:41 pm

this video was made in processing and is the work of aaron koblin and after effects. some said that it looks like windows media player visualizer while others complained that the song reminds them of the pixie’s where is my mind(?!).
well, i love the song and the video made me download processing(it’s free) and go play. i obviously got lost in the complex world of programming so i gave up and watched rest my chemistry again.
and again. and again. you get the point.

how many grains of sand are there in the world?

the right corner of my screen’s subtly telling me that it’s the 28th of december.

time for pinning up the victories and forgetting the failures?

time for resolutions?

one of the best years so far. a stressful spring but that’s just because i have the lovely habit of worrying too much while over-thinking has always been one of my favourite things to do in the whole wide world. graduating and probably one of the most beautiful days of the year. exams. a hot hot summer sprinkled with the fear of not ending up in sheffield for the next 3 years(at least). a text saying: ‘congratulations, your welcome to the university of sheffield pack has been posted’ that made my summer. my birthday(getting old, aren’t we?) and the thought that soon it’ll be the right time to start using anti-ageing products. mansajeees? hasish? walking aimlessly on the streets and everything that barcelona meant. anonimvl film festival. 2 years later. balea. danes. packing and making lists.

my friends, always my friends. i’d be nothing without them. 19 kg – luggage overweight. some tears rolling down my cheeks in a random prague terminal, rapidly wiped. moving out, moving on. what am i doing? where am i going? the weird sensation evaporating after the first couple of weeks spent in sheffield. falling in love with the city, the people, the course, the life.

my life. the studio at the 13th floor. the parties. the drunken nights. the nocturnal walks back home. the amazing people i’ve met in the last 3 months. again, my friends. the trips. the double jds and coke. the sunsets, as we don’t do sunrises unless the following morning comes too soon to play the-perfect-party-crasher part.  the socials and the projects. the happinnes. the photos, hundreds of them.

the memories of a lion shaped cookie.  2008.

no resolutions. carpe diem, just for once.
