lanterns, music and some butterflies

Sunday evening, Sheffield’s dusky streets were lit up by eerly paper mache lanterns in a parade that started at Mount Pleasant Park under the theme Music. So there were guitars, violins, a yellow submarine, musical notes, all accompanied by robots, bunnies, hearts, owls, cats and butterflies. The parade finished in the General Cemetery with live music and lots of smaller lanterns being released. Add a cloudless starry evening and a gentle summer breeze and you’ve got the perfect recipe for any Sunday of the year.

P.S.: all organised by CAN, a group of 8 freelance artists that have been doing this and lots of other really interesting community orientated events for the past few years.
